ReddiNet in Action

A 26 foot privately owned power boat exploded in a local harbor. Eight injured people were ejected and landed in the water. The closest base hospital, Huntington Beach Hospital, went to work. After notification from the fire department-which had begun a rescue operation-the hospital quickly polled neighboring hospitals via ReddiNet. This poll included trauma and burn centers.

Immediate, delayed and minor capabilities were posted on ReddiNet within minutes. Fire dispatch reviewed the hospitals open to them, triaged and transported eight patients to four of the responding hospitals with the exact capabilities needed. Hospitals then utilized the ReddiNet patient locator feature to post the arrivals and assist families and friends in identifying where their loved ones were taken.
